Women from the Keyo Pottery Women's Group Produce Cook Stoves

Women from the Keyo Pottery Women’s Group place mud and straw in a kiln prior to firing a load of cook stoves. Founded in 1984 in Kisumu, Kenya, the group is the premiere stove production facility in the region, producing 1,500 jiko kisasa (firewood stove) stoves, 5,000 ceramic jikos (charcoal stove), and 500 rocket stoves (firewood stove) inserts on a monthly basis.
