Monroe County Offices
I'll apologize up front as this image was taken about 2 months ago. I was on vacation and didn't have the opportunity to take another in time for this assignment, but I wanted to participate because the photographer I chose is someone I've been emulating for the past year or so. her name is Candida Hofer. "For more than 30 years, Ms. Höfer has been compiling her deadpan inventory of public spaces, a social catalog of architectural history. Empty and vast, these places can sometimes seem like just occasions for photographic spectacle, the pictures are often so chillingly awesome. But Ms. Höfer is a straight photographer whose humanity and improvisatory spirit come across if we are patient enough to appreciate the serendipity of her light, the subtlety of her color and the quiet, melancholy pleasure she seems to take in finding, as if almost by chance, poetry in institutional form."

These older buildings in Rochester have exquisite architecture. This was taken from the second floor so that I could include the wonderful and ornate crown molding above the third floor and just below the skylight. This is a panorama of 6 vertical images, each one composed of 3 images that were toned in Photomatix. I took the pics from each of the mirror arches you see across the way so I would have less of a perspective problem putting them together. I moved, rather than rotating the camera.
