Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus)

Kaw Lake -- McFadden Cove: At the known western edge of the winter range for the Eastern Red-shouldered hawk (B. l. lineatus) and slightly extra-limital for the Southern Red-shouldered Hawk (B. l. alleni) -- sensu Wheeler 2003 Raptors of Western North North America. This bird may be an intermediate although the plumage falls within the range for alleni.
