Yauch & Yoyoyoyoyo!
Yauch, better known as MCA, of the Beastie Boys, was recently diagnosed with a "very treatable" form of cancer. This was very sad news for me regardless of how treatable it is, because cancer is serious fuckin' business and The Beasties have been my favorite hip-hop group since I was like 13. They had to postpone their new album & their upcoming tour, which all really sucks, but not as bad as if the world were to lose a dude like Adam Yauch. He is an activist for the Tibetan Freedom Foundation and is just overall one of the better human beings on the planet....get better soon my man! (The reason I did this type of vignette is to pay homage to the old-school fisheye lens style that the Beasties rocked in "Shake Your Rump")
Yoyoyoyoyo is an album by a group called Spankrock, which features a girl named Amanda Blank, who is one of the illest, yet filthiest, female MC's on the planet. Her verse in a track of theirs called Bump makes me shake my head because of her ridiculous skills, but it also cracks me up because of how absolutely vulgar she can be.
