Shopfront - Satsuki

Still one of our local favourites. We'd bet there more often if it wasn't always fully booked!

The new bento set meals with rice, salad and miso soup are a bargain at AUD10. Julia had the butterfish which was moist and glazed with a smoky teriyaki sauce.

The waitress recommended the gyoza which were freshly made today. The chef makes them once a week, so to get them fresh is a treat! There was a choice of chicken or prawn gyoza, and we chose the prawn. It was full of plump and juicy prawns encased in a smooth but chewy wrapper.

As the nights are getting a bit colder, we also got a steaming hot curry udon. I didn't think the Japanese curries here used to be as sweet, but it was still good, especially for the silky smooth udon noodles that have a great chewy bite to them.
