떡볶이 Tteokbokki - Hello Cook AUD7

The menu advertised their Jajangmyeon as using "Hello Cook noodles". We took that to mean that they made their noodles on the premises, and perhaps we were right! These were slippery and chewy noodles that had a good bite! The Jajangmyeon sauce was a little unusual though, not really similar to the Chinese 炸酱面 Zhajiang mian on which it is based, but still good. In fact it kinda reminded me of KL Fried Hokkien Noodles!

Since they didn't have the Bibim Naengmyeon (they did have Mul Naengmyeon with cold beef broth), we opted for a 떡볶이 Ddeokbokki instead. Nice and spicy! Another dish that has it's origins in Chinese food, in this case 炒年糕 Fried Rice Cakes.
