Julia's 发糕 Steamed Rice Cakes, made with rice flour and yeast, fermented overnight.
I love the yeasty flavour and the springiness of the spongey rice-cakes, but Julia thought the yeasty taste was too strong.
The trick of drizzling sugar in the middle of the rice cake ensures as 笑口 "happy laughing" cake.
