Pesto and Sundried Tomato Rice Balls, Tofu Salad, Cracked Wheat Salad, Pumpkin Pasta Bake - Friends of the Earth, Fitzroy AUD6 small plate
Haven't been to Friends of the Earth for ages and the food has improved a lot! Made with organic produce, so packed with flavour that it was almost the best tasting brocolli we've ever had. Definitely good value vegetarian (vegan?) food for AUD6 for a small plate.

Reviews:
- Who needs meat? by Nikki Fisher, The Age, Epicure, December 2, 2008 Carmen Bateson, part-time food co-ordinator at Friends of the Earth cafe in Collingwood, eats meat occasionally, but it must be wild, organic or biodynamic. Together with food co-ordinator Beth Cameron and a team of volunteers at Friends of the Earth, Bateson creates one of the tastiest, best-value, organic, vegetarian lunches on Melbourne's menus. Cameron, who has worked at Friends of the Earth for 18 years, says: "We have so many food choices compared to 20 years ago ... and more than ever we have to do what's sustainable for this country. There are so many people over the world who live well without eating meat.
