Smoked Salmon, Creme Fraiche, Capers, Onion, Roquette, multigrain baguette - The French Quarter
Smoked Salmon, Creme Fraiche, Capers, Onion, Roquette, multigrain baguette - The French Quarter AUD6.95
---
I have read about The French Quarter Patisserie several times in The Age Epicure and online elsewhere, and so when we passing through, I decided we could stop by for breakfast.
First impressions are that is is another Laurent, with their wicker chairs, pretty little cakes and French pastries. And boy was their pastry good!
We couldn't resist diving first into the almond croissant and it was very buttery with loads of almond and marzipan. There were also bits of crunchy chewy balls of burnt sugar that was quite a treat!
The smoked salmon baguette was good too. Using the multigrain baguette was a godo choice to help to balance the richness of the salmon and the creme fraiche. The scattering of capers and onions gave a few more flavours to kick the whole thing along nicely.
