Jeff and I wanted to have lunch at Dessert House, but the queues put us off, so we decided to give King's No. 1 Cafe another try. Despite they renovation, the were more or less doing overflow business from Dessert House and Gold Star Cafe in the Chinatown Cinema Arcade. Perhaps the name "no one cafe" is a bad omen!
Feeling adventurous, Jeff ordered the Chicken Wings in Coca Cola Sauce and I got the Lemongrass Pork Chop with Orange Sauce. Both were too sweet and lacking in the advertised cola and orange. Mine had the disadvantage of beeing goopier!
At least we know what not to order the next time!
I also noticed that they serve breakfast items like steamed buns for AUD1.50, 2 dumplings for AUD2.50, bowls of noodles for AUD3.50 and congee for AUD3, and they do breakfast sets for AUD4.50 to AUD6. Breakfast is between 9:30am to 11:30am. Worth a try!
