Waitress - Bavarian Haus
Not bad German food, although not as good as Germany. We had a Japanese waitress and perhaps a Pacific Islander. The Japanese waitress was definitely helpful for the Japanese diners there that night.
The restaurant was more or less self-service / order-at-the-bar, very reminiscent of places in Germany. At least they didn't make you hand in the tray after you finish :)
Julia's pork knuckle had crispy crackling on the outside and moist ham inside. It's a pity some parts were a bit dry. I got a combination platter with bratwurst, knackwurst (white), kassler and schnitzel. Both dishes served with creamny sauerkraut. I couldn't get enough of it! The schnitzel was tender and had been pan-fried in butter, and the kassler was smokey and juicy. The wursts were the... (wait for it) worst (boom boom) part, being heavily processed meat, although still quite flavoursome and juicy. I'm sure I've had better in Germany or at the bratwurst stall in the Queen Victoria Market.

- www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2008/02/27/8306_more-gold-co... This is not a vegetarian restaurant, says Kim in a masterpiece of understatement.
