It was ANZAC Day, so most of the shops in Wonthaggi were closed until 1pm. We found a copy hotel on the main street of Wonthaggi and wandered in.
We were quite surprised to see wagyu beef on the menu. It seemed a bit out a place with the traditional favourites of roast pork, apple sauce and gravy, corned silverside, etc. The mushroom gravy with the steak was definitely one we used to love, and the chips with the gravy used to be a student favourite :)
The tender silverside was good too. Not too salty, and full of flavour from the spices in the poaching liquor.
Most surprisingly, was that the veg were all tender, but not soft and soggy :)
