Bridge - Canterbury Gardens

Suzuran is one of our favourite sushi places. It's a pity that they only have 1 table in store, but that's because they are primarily an importer of Japanese food, with a small retail shop that also sells sushi.

 

We discovered from the map that there is a lovely little Canterbury Gardens around minutes drive away, so it was a sushi picnic lunch for us a warm Autumn day.

 

The hamachi and shiso leaf was a nice combination, although in this case, the kingfish was chopped up, but still in big enough dice to retain the characteristic crunchy texture.

 

The big roll was just a bigger California roll. Still good, but we'll probably stick with the yummy futomaki with preserved veg, eel and pink fish floss instead next time :)
