Smoked Salmon Pappadelle
Simple pasta and salad dinner. INstead of cream, I reduced some low fat soy milk until it was thick and creamy, just like the consistency of pouring cream, and then made sure it didn't split by thickening it some more with some cornstarch mixed with water.
We were a bit disappointed with the papadelle we got from a deli at South Melbourne market. I managed to get it to just al dente, but it just didn't feel smooth. Perhaps it was my dodgy cream sauce... It was the same place we got the yucky börek from. I think we're going to stay clear.
The pasta was branded thusly:
Traditional pasta della nonna
Ingredients: Durum Semolina, Eggs.
Suggested cooking time: 8 to 10 minutes

I was trying for something alongs the lines of a Middle-Eastern salad like the one at Gas Eatery, and I think I need more oil! The mint and pistacchio were nice.
