Mee Rebus - Tastes of Singapore

Mee Rebus - Tastes of Singapore AUD6.50

Nice and spicy gravy/soup thickened with peanuts and mashed potatoes, probably made with a prawn or some other seafood-y stock. Not bad, but I'd prefer a squeeze of lime juice instead of lemon... and a big dollop of sambal belacan!

Feeling the need for some Malaysian spice. Not Indian, not Korean, not Japanese. So we decided to give Tastes of Singapore a go. We had heard that they do a decent satay.

The food is definitely very typical of a Mamak stall in Singapore or Malaysia.

We didn't have any (lamb or chicken) satays this time, but they looked and smelled quite good, and were done on the grill!

They even have tables outside, and when it is 36°C in the shade, really makes it feel like a Mamak stall in Malaysia!

Best of all, the food is very reasonably priced!
