Le Canotier - Gianduja mousse, hazelnut praline - Laurent Patisserie

Very good cake! The mousse was a light combination of chocolate and hazelnut goodness. JX remakred that it was like a Ferero Rocher cake, and he wasn't wrong!

The praline layer in the middle was very crisp and just enough to not stick to your teeth.

My first impressions are that it was just another small suburban Malaysian Chinese restaurant, until Bill Chin the owner came out. He spoke Hakka, Cantonese, and Malaysian English :)

We had Char Kway Teow as an entree, and it didn't disappoint. We were all quite surprisd by how crunchy the little cubes of pork fat were, and how faint smokiness of the noodles. The only thing missing were the cockles, but since we can't get fresh ones in Melbourne, it is better left out! A good start.

The rest of the dishes were quite good too! very typical of what you would find in a Chinese restaurant in KL and Malaysia.

We didn't have any fancy dishes, but Bill promised that he'd have some typical Chinese New Year dishes including Yee Sang!
