Gay Jesus Musical 12-18-09 15
Gay Jesus Musical
In written history, the most recent contact the Judeo-Christian God has had with humans was when God the Father met with Joseph Smith Jr., founder of the Mormon church, in 1820 and introduced him to his son, Jesus. Since this meeting, Jesus and his dad have continued to live in the United States and moved from Illinois to Utah with the Mormons in 1847. The father and son currently live in a small house with their dove, the Holy Spirit. Throughout their lives, they have had little direct contact with homosexuals. They are poorly educated about the homosexual lifestyle, and the two of them, especially the father, are not very open minded about it. Now a gay couple is moving into the house across the street. The musical begins here. Through dialogue and song, it explores conflict between homosexuality and religion as well as relationship issues and biblical contradiction. It is a humorous and touching love story with melodies and lyrics that will remain with the audience long after the show.
Presented by Jan Lewis Griffith Jr. and Dan Falicki.
