Illuminations: Reflections of Earth

Newer Older

When I first took this series of Illuminations shots (the rest have "disappeared" from my photostream), I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Now I honestly think they look somewhat weird--albeit cool. Perhaps 30 seconds is just too long of an exposure for fireworks?

Don't get me wrong, I still like this shot, it just has an almost unnatural look to it from having so many bursts in one shot.

...That said, I'll probably come back with another set like this in August, because ultimately cool outweighs unnatural!

If you want tips for taking better photos at Disney, read this article! In it, I share advice applicable for everyone (from amateurs with iPhones to pros with DSLRS) heading to Disney!

I have a lot like this as well. I think it's the spinning globe. When I shoot the Wishes, no matter the exposure at least the buildings stay still.

I think it's extra cool with all of the bursts in one shot - especially with all of the purple!

I don't this there is anything unnatural about this. Cool is definitely above all else. Magic is in the night air. I can feel it.

Definitely a cool shot and not unnatural in the least! By including all the fireworks that occured over a 30 second exposure you have created a grand finale feel to it! Excellent capture.

I'm a big fan of this. But maybe I'm just a sucker for fireworks shots. Either way, it looks great to me!
