My '39 Chevy- suicide doors, black-primer paint job, tinted windows, jacked up in back.
And there was the '51 Studebaker coupe, the '56 Dodge with an early hemi, the '50 Chevy panel truck, the '59 T-bird (once I had to pull the engine to replace a 10-cent oil plug), & the '58 Chevy, the '54 Ford, & a couple of tiny Honda 600s (which were powered by an equally tiny 2-cyl motorcycle engine). My first car was a fire-engine red '49 Chevy- I got a drivers license when I was 15, just before they changed the law & raised the minimum age to 17. I've done things with a car that you wouldn't believe. The scariest thing I ever rode was a '76 Norton Commando 850- it was all go, but very poor brakes.
The only new car I ever bought was a '73 Honda Civic. That was when everyone else was buying huge land yachts. Just to make a point, I refused to wash it for 2 years.
