Those are adorable. Is there a recipe? If I had to guess, I'd say they were finely grained macaroons dipped in...?

A lot of people have asked about the recipe for these...the recipe is my sister's. It's basically a shortbread-like cookie, but with less butter, and some lemon zest tossed in. Ball them, pinch in some ears, and coat with a sugar glaze. I recently made a batch of pink kitties, with a currant-flavored pink glaze.

It's also how I made the Totoro cookes.

they're so adorable! i've been trying so hard for weeks now to make them the way you do but mine always come out flatter than i want - not nearly as cute as yours :(

These are so cute, even moreso than Totoro. I am not sure I could even eat them, but rather I'd like to invite them to tea ; )

Your recipe for these is a bit minimal, but I will try my best. I just love the way they look.

Are you sure you won't post the actual recipe? I'm afraid to try just any old shortbread recipe because they might not hold together in the proper shape. Or they might expand when baking. Also, what did you use to coat them with? Some sort of a glaze icing? Or the stuff they cover professional cakes with now? Pretty please?
