Some of the freshly planted 12,000 red geraniums for the 2006 mock-up of the proposed waterfront redesign conceived by Dutch architects West 8. Among other features, the mock-up provided the missing link of the Martin Goodman Trail between Bathurst and Jarvis. Sailing through there on my bike felt so liberating, and I couldn't help grinning the entire way everytime I rode it. It's almost a utopian model of transportation infrastructure if you ask me: 2 lanes for cars, two for streetcars, two for bikes, rollerblades etc., and sidewalks for pedestrians. Everyone's happy (in theory)!
