Starry Ipad Night

Needs work (alot!), but I got tired of standing in front of the painting for 45 minutes. So here it is.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, it needs work. But it was interesting to figure out how the original work was created with the use of short brush strokes and blending of colors over colors. The iPad is a great tool for learning things like this. I wonder how long this picture took for Van Gogh to paint? How long would it have taken him to paint this if he did it on an iPad? What would this picture have looked like if he had done it on an iPad? And finally, would Van Gogh have even been a famous artist if he were creating his work in the digital age and posting his stuff on Flickr?

Pretty cool. You might be interested in this amazing site:

      www.googleartproject.com

It gives you the ability to zoom into a VERY high-resolution photo of artwork from museums from all over the world (including the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam). Pretty damned impressive.

Tim, I've seen it. It is pretty cool, but for some reason it was running slow on my computer the other day. Thanks for the recommendation!
