Holyoke Mall At Ingleside
Holyoke Mall At Ingleside; Holyoke, Massachusetts

Holyoke Mall At Ingleside opened July 1979 with five two-level anchors G. Fox & Co., JCPenney, Sears, Steiger's and Service Merchandise Catalog Showroom.

The mall had been planned in 1971 and was projected for completion in 1975 but was halted by the economic downturn. Finally completed in 1979, it became and still is considered one of the largest malls in New England.

Cafe Square, a Pyramid brand for their food and entertainment level, once featured a bevy of restaurants, an eight-screen cinema and an entrenched fountain. Cafe Square was drastically remodeled with a multi-milliondollar renovation in 1989 which saw the removal of the fountain near the concrete staircase and escalators. In 2014, the flooring was replaced.

The mall's first major expansion in 1995 added anchors Filene's (now Macy's), Toys "R" Us and Kids "R" Us.

As of 2014, glossy flooring replaced the original 1979 terrazzo and chrome railings replaced the wood railings though wood-paneling along the split level from the original design remain intact today.
