Common Whelk eggmass

I found this strange object washed up on Baginbun beach yesterday, about the size of a tennis ball (best viewed Large to see the texture & structure). I recalled seeing a similar photo uploaded by Curiosity thrills. so I referenced back to his photo & found out this is the remains of a Common Whelk eggmass, the mollusc larvae having hatched out HSS & HTT!

(I hope this is OK for Snail Saturday Kez even though the adult animal is not visible, if not feel free to remove it from the group)
