You certainly do not know that about 77.8 million electric discharges are registered per year in Brazil. This number places the country in the leadership of lightning incidence in the world.
The main victims of lightning strikes are people who carry out activities in the field, but there have been reports of deaths of livestock and other animals as well.
For humans, it is always a risk to be close to the electrical or hydraulic network; water activities (beaches, rivers and pools); or still be under trees.
In the case of animals, fatality is common because they are close to fences or under trees.
In my small forays into rural areas, I always see cows in the pasture, and after the meal resting under the shade of a tree.
But who can blame them for trying to escape the sun so harsh that it hits us, especially during Spring and Summer?
