Barry in self-striping and tweed
the second design in my leethal Short Stripes Trio ( www.leethalknits.com/patterns/TRIOshortstripes.html )
The non-buttoning version with self-striping (Liberty Wool by Classic Elite) and tweed (Berroco Blackstone Tweed).
Side note - I wanted to use these 2 yarns together so badly because the colors and textures were such a good pairing, but even though they are both called worsted weight, the weights are significantly different from each other. So... the hat is far from perfect. The tweed part flares out a bit over the colored section... I tried to adjust my tension to match the gauges as much as possible, but the tweed section is much denser, not good. So, oh well, the colors look great, and it's not very noticable in the photos... My point in telling you is that I don't recommend copying this version exactly - if you want a striping+tweed combo, seek out 2 yarns that are exactly the same weight (or as close as you can find).
