[sic]Bob Landry photographed Rita Hayworth, a Brooklyn girl born Margaritia Carmen Cansino, on her bed for 'LIFE' Magazine during World War 2. He set up strobe lights and the fill flash failed to fire. History was made. The photograph became the 2nd most popular pin-up during the war. It was a sensational photo of its time. Had the fill flash fired, it would have been just another corny glamor shot floating in oblivion. So it goes.

I am formerly a staff photographer for the daily fashion newspaper, "Women's Wear Daily" and the monthly fashion magazine "W" and other Fairchild Publications now owned by the Conde Nast media empire..I've given my life to the magic black box.

    alisonhulot says:

"Wasn’t it Karl Marx who wrote that art is always and everywhere a secret confession, and simultaneously the immortal movement of its time? Well, it was either him or Groucho. Either way, Eric’s photography shows the hidden secrets and the lasting truths. Make this man your contact and you won’t be sorry."

    Alberto Pasini says:

"Eric is a professional photographer and this is absolutely clear by visiting his stream. He takes photos of celebrities or ordinary people with the same care and attention. Pictures aren't made with special effects, life is already fantastic by itself ...

His recipe about photography? A spoon of "reporter eye", a pinch of irony, a good dose of technique, a lot of experience and mix everything.

    That's it."

"Eric is a great photographer and anyone could learn a lot from him. I never know what I'll find when I come to visit his site and am often pleasantly surprised by some of the places he's been and shots he's taken. He's also an extremely funny guy. I'm glad to know you, Eric!"

    J A Mortram says:

"I'm blown away by Eric's work.

Always very honest, painterly, superbly crafted and most of all infused with human qualities.

    A constant inspiration.

His website is a must see. If time is invested in slowly studying each shot the heart of the image comes forth and rewards you with its detail, character and soul - all qualities lacking in many contemporary shots but abundant in Eric's collection of images.

More than images these - they are a mirror to the world."

"Eric's photos are characterized by a refreshing, unique perspective that invites you to see something 'ordinary' as a singular, extraordinary moment instead. Always 'real' and 'natural,' yet somehow astoundingly revelatory.
He also has a WONderful professional demeanor, managing to be sincere in his interactions, but clear in his objectives-- he can be both honest and precise at the same time. A very rare combination of qualities, and a fantastically varied body of work."

"Eric has been my friend since the early nineties, when we dated for a few years. He is a wonderful photographer-you should see some of the pictures of me he hasn't put on the web... he is a loyal friend, a really good cook, and as a former NYC cab driver never fails to be an entertaining guide through every corner of the city. I'm the one who introduced him to Flickr and I fear I've created a monster."

"Eric has the rare ability to photograph people in their element. True to themselves. They appear to not even notice that he's there. Revealing human nature at it's finest. I can look at his photos over and over and still be moved by them. Thank you for sharing this gift! I appreciate not only your photos but also your friendship as a fellow photog! I hope that you will continue to share. Your friend, Leanne"
