Julie Vetro is a Visual Artist and an Educator. She works with the Peel District School Board and the Halton District School Board. She has taught visual art lessons and film classes with students in school boards, private school and various arts organizations in Toronto and the GTA.
As a Visual Arts Educator at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Vetro has taught school workshops and community courses for many years. She has worked with students (K-12, & adults) teaching in a variety of media (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, and film). Vetro was an Outreach Educator with Lakeshore Arts in Toronto. She collaborated with a Toronto based Actor and a Playwright. She taught illustration and created graphic novels with middle school students in the SHAZAAM Outreach program.
As a Film Instructor, she was hired for a special project directing and producing an educational and promotional video with middle school students in the Peel District School Board. Together they created a video highlighting the International Baccalaureate program at Bristol Road middle school in Mississauga. Vetro has also worked with high school students in the co-curricular program at Appleby College in Oakville. She directed and produced a short film promoting the Kerr Street Mission in Oakville.
Vetro is a practicing Artist. She participated in the Artist-in-Residency program at the Living Arts Centre for two years. She is a member of Gallery1313 (an Artist Run Centre), Gallery44 (Contemporary Photography Gallery) , and LIFT (Liaison of Independent Filmmakers) in Toronto, Ontario.
