I live in Iowa, USA.
My first camera was a Canon AE-1 film camera which I got nearly forty years ago and still occasionally use. I now use a Nikon D7100 and a Nikon D90 with Nikkor 16-85 mm VR, Nikkor 70-300 mm VR, Nikkor 105 mm VR, Nikkor 50 mm 1.8, Sigma 150-500 mm, and Sigma 10-20 mm lens. A couple of great cameras.
I like to take photos of landscapes, rural life, old barns, old houses, flowers, nature, and occasionally even people.
I'd welcome any comments, criticism or suggestions you have for my photostream. As I now have nearly 140 contacts, I find it very difficult to comment on every photo my contacts post but I will always try to comment at least once a week. Please don't ask me to post my photos to groups that require numerous comments or a full of glittery awards and icons. Comments should be about the appreciation of an individual image rather than a set requirement by a group administrator.
Feel free to view my favorite photos taken by other Flickr members on my Photostream page under favorites to see what I like in a photo.

T.R. is one lucky man. Anyone can see that. Recently retired R.R. Conductor. I would never have given up that job. I really believe, due to this past job, T. R's. observation skills are more elevated than us average Joe's. It is very obvious, when one starts meandering through his wonderfully endless stream of beautiful, digital observations. John has a very keen eye and a sensitive and intelligent way of recording life in his scope. I really look forward to seeing what's around the bend, in T.R's. flickr portfolio.Read less
