David is a seasoned high-altitude mountaineer and climber. His favorite climb? The Eiger (yes like the movie with Clint Eastwood). As a global traveler, he always finds time to cook with locals and pick up what he can in the kitchen. As for a favorite dish, it has to be pasta; with so many possibilities, who doesn't love pasta?

David shoots a lot of photos with his Canon ELPH; with all of the photos on MastroScheidt.com shot by him. In 2008, David started the food blog The Cured Ham. He has been published in an online Italian magazine, ThePuglia.com and as a featured blogger on Urbanspoon, TasteFresno, and Noms.in. David was recently quoted in the September 1, 2011 edition of the Wall Street Journal regarding San Francisco restaurants.
