The Mraz Center for the Performing Arts is a theatre venue within the ISD 191 school system. It primarily serves high school arts programs, with additional musical performances by elementary and junior high students.

The Burnsville High School Theatre Guild is an afterschool program dedicated to teaching high school students skills in the performing arts - both on and off the stage. The 100+ member company manages all areas of the organization, from stage acting, to directing, costuming, business management, set construction, fundraising and publicity. It produces between 4-6 shows each year and makes each one an unforgettable and delightfully unexpected experience. Productions follow the standard school year with performances taking place on the BHS Mraz Center stage. For more information, go to

The Second Stage Theatre Company is a summer theatre company dedicated to bridging the gap between academic theatre experiences and professional work. Bringing together cast and crew of all ages, experiences and talents, Second Stage produces a large scale musical during summer, with performances taking place either on the Mraz Center stage or at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center venue. Company members come from throughout the Twin Cities metro and share experiences, knowledge and opportunity in the 'Second Stage' of the theatrical growth.

ISD 191 also features many great junior high theatre productions, honor choirs and the annual Class Acts production staged by ISD 191 teachers. For more information on this school district, visit
