Been on Flickr a good while now, and I must say it's rekindled a long-term but dormant hobby (photography). I like film, especially old Russian cameras and my Nikon F5. I used to be lazy and use the digital, but having tried film again seriously, I can't ever imagine going back to digital. For me it is sterile and without joy.
I'm also into classic cars in a big way - and they don't come much bigger than my Czechoslovakian Tatra 603 car. over the years I have also owned a Škoda S110R Coupe, several Jags & Daimlers, Triumphs and all manner of other oddities.
I also have a fairly recently discovered passion for History (which I hated at school), specifically the history of my Home Town - Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and also the Cold War.
A note on geotagging: I try to be assiduous in placing the locations of my photographs, though I will, inevitably make mistakes - please let me know if you spot any. Note that I try to put the marker where the photographer stood to take the shot rather than the location of the thing being taken. Most of the time, you wouldn't know the difference, but it can look a little odd when I post pictures of things I have taken at a distance.

    burwell says:

"Allen is what FLICKR is all about....a genuine flickr mate to have
and confide in....he should have a shed load of these testimonials.
You can easily sense his passion for the way things were in days gone by, historical facts added to his photo`s add another interesting dimension...and his latest postings are a must see always."

the new trail of tears says:

"He's a dab-hand at finding out about stuff, and always knows where to go to find the beautiful in his subject matter.
His pictures often convey a sense of loss, for forgotten ways, past glories and the beauty within dereliction."
