From a photographic standpoint, I like to think of myself as a landscape photographer more than anything else, but it seems like a lot of wildlife has wandered in front of my lens lately. What I search for most is light, "good" light, "interesting" light to combine with the locations I find myself in--light can make or break the scene. ;-P Thanks very much for coming around and browsing through some of my photos, and I hope you enjoyed seeing a little glimpse of my life.
My gear includes Olympus OMD EM5, 12-50, 75-300, 11-22, 50-200, 14-54, 35 macro. Older photos may have been shot by an E620, E520, E500....etc. There's also a Panasonic G5, & 100-300mm lens in the mix, and a Panasonic P&S
Biology pays the bills, but photography feeds the imagination (and soul).

I look daily for her latest post and can get a little pushy (everyone needs a nudge right? ) if I don’t see her latest shot. I’ve learned a lot from her and she has helped fuel my passion to grow with my photography. I concur: Charlene is the queen of backlighting. Aunt Kathy

CB is not only a master of light, but a master of love for nature. There's a tangible communal thing going on in her beautiful photography -- not only do you see her affection for the outdoors, you see the outdoors loving her back. It dresses up and puts on its best colors, and pauses for a moment while she clicks the shutter. It's mystical. I love it.

Makes a person a little green with envy sometimes. Kudos to you, Stormygirl. You have oodles of talent.
Read lessCharlene has some great images in her portfolio. She seems to have a knack for capturing the sweet light no matter the setting. Forest scenes, coastal scenes, deserts, wildlife; she nails them all equally good. Take a stroll through her photostream. There's a great deal of variety and some outstanding photography.
I continue to be amazed at SG's gift at capturing images with serene or surreal lighting, and GREAT compositions. What I THOUGHT were mere WEEDS can become silky and seductive art pieces, and tends to make me throw any camera I have to the wind; content to pick up my paint brush-perhaps that is my only tool, (and that… Read more

What I THOUGHT were mere WEEDS can become silky and seductive art pieces, and tends to make me throw any camera I have to the wind; content to pick up my paint brush-perhaps that is my only tool, (and that is OK). I am grateful to call her a personal friend, and doubly blessed to watch her occasionally in process, and see results of her other travels., etc. etc. YAY-life IS good!

I LOVE Stormygirl's photos! She captures awesome light and deep, rich colors. She is Queen of the back lit photo. I think one of the first comments I made about any photo of her's concerned her eye for composition. She just "sees" photographically. She knows what composition is going to make a great photo.
