I'm chiefly occupied on most days as the Urban Farmer who is the main force behind the Sellwood Garden Club. The SGC is a unique distrubuted network of small farm parcels formerly known as people's front and side yards that feeds families and restaurants in SE Portland, Ore.
I am also a founding member of the SE Seedbank Project, by where homeowners assist SE Portland's Urban Farmers with a larger project to breed and select locally-adapted varieties of food crops thorugh the sale of Perpetual Seed Kits.
SGC produce can be found at Oregon's only rebel farmers' market that accepts barter as payment, the Hawthorne Urban Farmers' Market.
But, being a panarchist and amateur systems theorist, I am unable to imagine how a human life well-lived could ever be relugated to single-minded specialization. Hence, the photos and some of my writing, which I hope you enjoy.
More of my previous media work can be found online at Sillydog Media.
On FlickR, you can watch how thousands of people are tracking not only the physical manifestations of climate change but the fluctuating construct of just what people perceive as being related to climate change on my FlickR group Global Climate Change
What if the migration and disruption that climate change will potentially cause takes the place of the great wars of the 20th century to influence migration and allocation of resources on a global scale in the 21st? Well, I'd call that a powerful thing that should be studied from all angles. That's what we're trying to do with pictures.
With a wee bit of programming and mapping, this project could be used as the raw data to be sorted and logged by computer-identiable themes that could be charted, graphed and studied.
