Enjoy the world as I see it through my lens.......
For most of my life I've lived in Bangalore, India.
Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Biological Image Processing at University Of California, Santa Barbara. For more information about me and my research, visit my website
I have been hooked to photography since 2005. My primary influences were my Ittiam colleagues, Vinayak Das and Abhijeeth AP. My first camera was a Canon S1 IS. It was fun while it worked, but in early 2006 it's CCD went bad....for no apparent reason. Then, things kind of slowed down on the photography front as other things in life took priority (well.....I got married, I quit my job, I came to US for a PhD).
I made a comeback in 2009. My weapon of choice this time was the Nikon D90. Thanks to Ken Rockwell for helping me with my decision. I've been reading his site since 2004 and have learnt a lot about photography from his articles. Checkout his free Nikon D90 User's Guide.
Special thanks to my wife for gifting me the camera on her birthday :P
Thank you my ♥ :)

Of late I have been hooked to shooting with my iPhone 3Gs. My aim is to show that you don't need expensive camera gear to make great shots. As Chase Jarvis says "The Best Camera Is The One That's With You". Checkout his book and video that promote this philosophy that I have deeply come to believe in.
Here's what I've done so far with my iPhone camera
Cameras: Nikon D90, Nikon S52, Canon S1 IS, Nokia 7610, iPhone 3Gs
Lenses: Nikon 18-200mm VR, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 (good for macro too with the Nikon BR-2A)
Tripod: Velbon CX 440
Other: SanDisk Extreme III SD Cards, Lowepro Computrekker AW backpack.
My Digital Workflow gear:
