My training is as an oil painter, but I started taking photographs long before I knew how to paint. I've been doing it compulsively for about 2 years which is about how long I've had my DSLR. I like photography of every kind. I like shooting in natural light and try to keep the amount of post-processing on my photos to a minimum whenever possible - and if you believe that I have a bridge...;->. I am interested in design and composition and like looking for ways of bringing out the peculiar in the ordinary. I also like to stress geometry and simplicity in my images. I hope you enjoy your visit to my site. Please don't use my images without getting my ok first.

"I had the good fortune to run across Rick early in my Flickr life and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him through his images. Not only is Rick a talented photographer but also creates stunning oil paintings. His love of color and line show up in everything he produces. Rick is a multi-talented artist who never ceases to amaze and surprise me!

I encourage everyone to take a look at Rick's photo stream which includes photos of many of his oil paintings and sketches - you will NOT regret it!"

"This testimonial is long overdue.... Rick is a fabulous artist and a generous friend. I love seeing the world through his eyes. His is a world of quiet, understated, simple and serene beauty. He sees elegance in places where others would not. Patterns, shadows, shapes, reflections and pastoral landscapes capture his imagination. I love the sense of playful whimsy that pervades his images. Now, I often times see, because of how Rick has opened my eyes, a play of objects or light that I wouldn't have appreciated before. His interest, generosity and thoughtful critiques are evidenced by his awesome comments on fellow artists work. I always appreciate - in a big way - seeing a lone bird flying somewhere in my stream."
