I'm a Professional Editorial/Commercial photographer based in London, UK. I mostly shoot for magazines such as Golf Monthly, Men's Fitness, Runner's World, Poker Player, Inside Poker, Men's Health, as well as lots of Book Covers and other commercial jobs.

For much of my commercial work there will inevitably be a delay between shooting it and putting it up here - my clients obviously get to use it first, and I could get in trouble if stuff goes public before they've had a chance to use it. I'm also limiting the stuff I post to things that I feel will be of interest - lots of what I shoot commercially can be quite mundane (fitness instruction shoots anyone?) and I'll only include it if I think it makes a technical point, or is otherwise worthy of your attentions.

After using Flickr for the past year or so I have decided that from now on I'll be blocking anyone who has no photos uploaded, or only photos they've harvested from other sites, from commenting on/favouriting my work. Sorry, but unless you contribute and play nicely like the rest of us, I'll take the toys away!

My main commercial site is here:

The link to my blog, which is full of stuff about the business of photography, is below

And my snaps are here, if you want to see what I look like a bit worse for wear.

    Danny North says:

"i've not written a testimonial before, but I feel Tom deserves one. His guides to freelancing and the psychology of freelancing for the working photographer are a great insight for people thinking of going pro and those that already are. I've recommended them as a good read to a few of my fellow snappers.

Tom's openness to showing his lighting set ups is refreshing in this world of ultra competitiveness.

    His photo's aren't bad either ;)"
