Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting a few hundred times; with a D-SLR, I'm quite willing to bracket things excessively.

I've lived in a few interesting places (Anguilla, Sealand, Iraq, elsewhere in the middle east), and traveled a lot through Asia, Europe, and the US.

Having a camera means instantly having a "role" in any setting; you're the guy with the camera, even if you don't know anyone there or want to interact. I aspire to becoming a Japanese tourist stereotype, obviously...

I recently upgraded from a 350D to a 7D. I'll probably stick with that and accumulate L glass, eventually getting a 5D mk II also. I'm going to try shooting video, underwater, nightclubs, and macro, in addition to outdoor/buildings/aircraft. I may even try actual models.

I'll probably also upload photos from a couple point and shoots (canon, panasonic lumix), and from a nexus one and a n82 smartphone.

I have: 580EXII flash, 10-22 EF-S, 24mm f/2.8, 17-55 EF-S IS, 28-135mm IS EF, 50mm f/1.4, 50mm Sigma macro, 70-200mm f/4L, 70-300 IS EF, 85mm f/1.8 EF, 100mm f/2.8 Macro. I want to get a 8-15mm fisheye, a 16-35mm II, a 24-70, and a 500mm, and a studio tripod.

I have tens of thousands of middle east/military/airfield/etc. photos which I haven't uploaded -- some of which are actually quite good. Unfortunately, OPerational SECurity demands that a lot of them not be published until the information is no longer current (locations of specific buildings, security measures).

I use Adobe Lightroom to manage and upload photos; my goal is to spend time retouching any image which is popular on flickr, or which appears to be worth the effort.
