The Pacifica Tribune, July 2006:

"Deborah Lattimore is a photographer with a quirky eye. Her work includes the unusual and the usual with a surreal twist: the beauty of fish eyes, graveyards, water reflections, and unusual views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Deborah is also a member of the Bay Area Photographers Collective and ARTShare."

The Examiner/Independent, January 7-8, 2006:

"Winter rains should 'wet' your appetite for photographer Deborah Lattimore's art, as exemplified in her picture of a winter apple. "On freezing mornings, wearing gloves and holding my camera, waiting for the perfect light, spectacularly high surf, weather drama, good season for crisp apples, I point and click," Lattimore said. "Winter on the Peninsula," an exhibition of artworks in San Mateo through February by ARTshare Artist Registry members, includes a variety of interpretations that creates an extensive portrait of winter..." "Deborah Lattimore - a rising star, 12-23-05
Reviewer: Timothy K. Hamilcon (creativity+)
I don't know about the other photographers, and I live in St. Louis, so I can't come to the exhibition. I just wanted to say a few words about Deborah Lattimore. She has an incredible eye for beauty, and has learned to capture it with great definition and skill. Photography, after all means "writing with light". I'm positive that some of her macros of fish will be in the show, as well as the unforgettable and original image of the green apple, held by a hand in a cobalt blue glove, with the sea as the backdrop. It is truly an photographic Icon, the kind that makes every good photographer think "I sure wish I had thought of that FIRST".>>

Interviewed by San Mateo County Times,
December 22, 2005:

"Working on a range of styles and media, 16 local artists offer a broad interpretation of living or working in San Mateo County in the exhibit 'Winter on the Peninsula,' opening Jan. 5 at ARTshare 25 Gallery in San Mateo. All of the exhibiting artists are ARTshare members. Among them is photographer Deborah Lattimore, who has recently turned professional, although she has been photographing everything and everyone in her life since the age of 4 when her grandfather gave her his Polaroid camera. She credits an organization named Flickr, which Lattimore calls "a revolution in photography," with her move into the professional realm." - Article written by Bonny Zanardi

"Deborah Lattimore's collection of family photos (www.flickr.com/photos/oceanbornstudios/sets/162615/) spans more than 40 years, presenting her grandparents in gorgeous sepia tones, her father in classic '70s color, and wonderfully scratched black-and-white prints - a fine portfolio of vernacular photography." - Christopher Y. CoastRanger says:

"I had come back to look at your reflections set again and kept thinking, this _IS_ the best set of anything on flickr. There were a few more to favorite. All of which exhibited a large degree of “favoritingableworthiness”. I have never favorited all the images in a set of anyone on flickr and decided to write yet another comment of the set.

I then looked at the fish-eyes, which I love and the rest of the portfolio. Gosh! There is so much remarkableness to your images.

Thinking some more, I remembered all the powerful images you have brought to flickr. How much the Surf Images thrilled and the Peace Photos Moved and decided that this comment of a set should be turned into a testimonial about one of flickr’s most talented persons.

Your images published, the accolades have rolled in, Praises bestowed and testimonials written and all of the positive words used already, so all I can add is this:

You are an artistic inspiration to countless, the motivational force to many and a flickr winner to all.

Your images stir my artistic soul and your comments and friendliness have made my flickr experience a delight
    Thank you,
    John"

"I need to put more into this myself, but knowing Deboarh as a friend and co-curating (grr) her stream - she is quite somethig. She borrows and she invents and she does not confine herself to much of a style, but everything that she posts is clearly well thought out, both in subject and composition. Wow."

" I’ve came across highly skilled photographers who knew all about technical details.
However, their work was cold and distant.
I also came across highly sensible photographers with no basic skills. Their work was fine but something was missing.
Only few times I met a complete photographer in the real sense of the word.
    Deborah is among these ones.
She is talented, she is sensible, she has skill.
She is curious; she wants to go far beyond, looking for new ways to express her vision and to touch others.
Deborah most certainly has touched me."

    Tampen says:

"There's a fascinating story about Deborah Lattimore. You see part of it in her pictures - the shining seascapes, the intriguing family, the political commitment, not to mention her special affinity for slack-jawed, one-eyed fishes.

The rest of it is scattered in words about her stream, tantalising fragments written here and there, glimpses of a remarkable woman with a wonderful photographic eye.

I thought I'd come to know what to expect from D's stream - a sequence of unrelieved delight - but every now and then she tosses in a joyous surprise. A tilted view of a bridge in the rain. The reflection of a rusty fishing boat. A rapture of light in the sky.

I've never met Deborah, never spoken to her, but getting to know her through her pictures is one of the great pleasures of Flickr. Go to her pictures now. Start with her velella velella set, and like all the best novels, you won't want to put her story down...."
