I have been interested in railways since I was a small boy. This interest was rekindled at University in the 1970s, when I eventually became President of the University Railway Club. Then in the 1980s I started exploring the railways of Europe on my own, later travelling further afield with TEFS Travel. This rather directly resulted in me marrying in the early 1990s, since when I have continued to travel with my wife around the world and still managing to visit, ride on and photograph railways as often as possible. Since retiring in 2015, I've started volunteering at my local steam railway, the Bluebell Railway.

So over the years I've accumulated many thousands of slides and digital photographs. Rather than just leave them in a cupboard or on my computer, I'm happy to share them with others. I am slowly working through my slide collection, scanning them and adding them here, along with new photos as and when I take something of interest. I welcome comments and feedback. I'm also happy for anyone to download them for private use, but if for commercial use I would expect recognition of my copyright and due permission sought with acknowledgement made if published elsewhere.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them against any photo or else use FlickrMail.
