For pictures not taken with one of the phones, I use to use MyTracks (for Android by the MyTracks Team at Google - app retired) and ExifTool (or Lightroom) to merge the GPS data into the pictures. I'm currently looking for something else to GeoTag my non-phone camera photos.
Camera Apps for the Phones
On the iPhone, I use "645 Pro" for almost everything.
On the Pixel, I use the default camera app.
Scanner and Scanning Software
I recently purchased a HP ScanJet G4050 to scan a bunch of old negatives I acquired of family. The HP software leaves much to be desired, so I also purchased a program called Silverfast by Lasersoft. Only version 6.x is available for the HP right now (as of 2012-Aug-5). Even with the Silverfast software, the quality of the negative scans, while probably acceptable for some, not that great.
I also have a Plustek 7600i w/ the Silverfast Ai suite. Version 8.x is available for it. I now use this for scanning film negative as the quality of the scan is much better than the HP.
