I've always had photography close to my heart, even as a child. I started out modestly, learning and being fascinated about everything there is to it, learning camera mechanics and optics way before I could even afford my first digital point-and-shoot. I kept experimenting and experimenting, I then discovered Flickr, and... here I am.
It was through Flickr that I got my first commercial gigs. As I started building up a little online reputation, in 2011 I got hired for my first commercial shoot. Since then, I've been shooting commercially to this very day. I do specialize mostly in real-estate (as far as now, I've been into and photographed around 700 homes), I've been doing portrait photography too, and I am just tapping into product photography and event photography (such as weddings so far).
Since March 2010 I own a NIKON D700, a camera I dreamed of for years. In Feb 2011 I added to my gear the latest standard NIKKOR zoom from Nikon: the 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VRII. In July 2011 I have added the most advanced flash unit from Nikon, the Speedlight SB-900. And as of 13th of September 2017, I am the owner of the newest, most advanced camera that Nikon ever built: the D5.
My gear currently consists of:
* NIKON D5 (my primary camera)
* NIKON D700 (secondary / backup camera)
* Nikon NIKKOR AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G - sold, replaced with
* AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VRII
* AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 D
* TOKINA 16-28mm f/2.8 - sold, replaced with
* Nikon NIKKOR AF-S 16-35mm f/4G ED VR
* Nikon Speedlight SB-900;
* Nikon Coolpix P6000;
* Nikon Φ52mm NC filter for the 50mm prime lens;
* Nikon Φ77mm Circular Polarizer II filter for the 28-300mm lens;
* Φ77mm UV filter ;
* Φ77mm FLD (Fluorescent light correction) filter.
* Zeikos 75" Professional tripod (I'm a tall guy and that's why I went for a 75" tripod) - sold and replaced with
* Manfrotto MK055XPRO3-3W
* Lowepro Fastpack 350 to carry my gear.
I am discovering another side of me through photography -- I am exploring a different view of the world I'm in through photography. Although my photostream is poor related to people I've seen, I've admired and shown my appreciation on their work, I do try to do my best.
I've decided not to be a random shooter anymore, but instead, with each picture I frame through my viewfinder -- to try to catch the soul of the moment. To try to say something with my pictures, to make the saying "One picture equals 1000 words" true.
Never studied photography as art before, never actually -- it is going to be a side project of mine, perhaps sooner than I'd expect. I've been studying optics and camera mechanics like crazy, I know (almost) everything I need to on how to operate the camera. When I shoot, I am not following any principles or composition rules. I try to get the capture as an expression of what I feel for the moment. That's why I am always open for critique, (as a way to learn) and your remarks are always valuable.
** Note to people who stop by and have a look through my photostream. Thank you! Your visit is appreciated and returning your visit is one of my highest priorities here on Flickr. I always follow up the comments I receive, contact requests and... group invites, if they respect the following:
** Note to the people who send me invites to groups where I am *required* to post 1 and comment 5, or to copy your banners in the comments I write. Please don't. If there's one thing I dislike about your group, is this one. I believe no one should be required to do something -- if they will feel a photo is worth leaving a comment, then they will do so. Not because *you* require, or else you ban them from your group. Better don't invite me or if you still do, you will be the one to get a block. Thanks.
That's all. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and to check out my photos.
