I have always been fascinated by photography and the art of capturing one little split second of this wonderful world!
My own shooting really took off when I upgraded to Canon 40D. I've since moved on to the 5D mkII and the wonderful world of Canon L-glass.

Someone once said that you have to shot 10.000 photos just to learn the basics, that's a lot easier these days with good cheap digital cameras :)
We often go through our everyday life without seeing the beauty of our world!
I wanna use the different camera techniques to capture and describe the world in a way that is different from what we see with our naked eye.
I wanna freeze the world using motion blur, depth of field and long exposure to get those magic moments. I'll tweak the reality in post process if I feel it brings out that feeling I had the second I pulled the trigger :)
I love clear vivid colors, and especially colors present when the ocean meats sun, sky & clouds... that scenery is something that I have always been drawn to :)
But I try to shot other motifs as well :)
My approach to post processing is that everything is allowed!
Pixels were born to be abused! I love critique though, so give me your honest opinion, I can take it :) and learn from it :)

Send me an e-mail if you want to buy a digital version. Print versions can be bought at www.mortenprom.no (Norway only), you'll find a limited selection of my work on that site, but we can produce any of my photos, just leave me a note :)
After I joined Flickr I feel I have learned at lot from all those awesome contacts of mine :) I look at a lot of great photos every day, that is very inspiring... thanks a lot to all my Friends on the Flickr community :)
It is very easy to become addicted to Flickr, so I try to cut down on the groups I post my photos to.
Instead I try to focus on exchanging comments and critique with my Flick contacts. I try to check my contacts as often as possible, but it's hard to find the time...

Discovering Morten's gorgious scandinavian landscapes has fascinated me as much as it has lead me going out and playing with a camera by myself after many years. The visualization of and view on his world and those (sometimes de facto) frozen moments show deep peace and harmony which offer to take part at that breath-taking beauty, just like a visual getaway which gives sort of virtual recreation. My favourate picture in Morten's stream is »Twilight Fantasy«. I just love the way how the lines of the gragged details in the foreground are leading my view in the dramaturgically well-composed setting which is immerged by the warm colours of dawn. That amazing light, reflected by the water almost blows my mind – every time I watch it. The horizon is like a secret promise and creates pure confidence! That expression is completed through the perfect colour play between each and every part of the picture as well as the wonderful reflections of these two cabins plus several rocks in the unruffled, calm water surface. It looks like those huts had babbled the night away, now enjoying the beginning new day in silent appreciation and comprehension (well, that's typical girl's landscape, isn't it ;). There's a special magic in that motif which might be described as prosperity of penuriousness … it's that ambivalence that elevates the value of »Twilight Fantasy« beyond the edges of pure landscape photography. I've discovered many great photographers, but there's just one who has ignited my own photographical passion again … So: Thanks Spiff, I'm in your debt :)Read less

Morten was one of the first to add me to his contactlist and is basically responsible for my flickraddiction. Bastard! He is such a creative photographer presenting a wide range of photos. It could be a crazy selfportrait or an epic landscape. But they all have one thing in commom...theyre all GREAT and they all carry his trademark. I can immediately tell its his photos when i see them.... He was the one who triggered my interest in long exposures and he`s had a great impact on my own work. He made me aware of the enormous effect a tweaked whitebalance can have on any given photo. But above all, he has been the one giving the most rewarding comments and feedback. Never afraid to state his opinions.... He`s just one of those guys that i respect...Read less
Morten is one of my contacts with a clear style on his photos. Beautiful wideangled landscapes often with a calming and almost zen-like feeling. It's hard to pick favourites, as all of them are really good. I would also recomment Morten becouse of his including style and generous behaviour.
Morten, you have a terrific gallery of images! Been looking at it in pure delight, enjoying your vision of the world and life... Congratulations! Will be looking forward for each one of your posts... Warm greetings from Portugal!!!
A nice person and a very talented photographer. His colorful pictures show us not only that he's really good with a camera, but the beauty of the place he lives in too. I'm glad he's one of my contacts as I enjoy with almost every picture he takes. Magnus.
March 6th, 2009 It’s been a few months since I came across Morten’s photostream. It’s always a pleasure to come back here, he has an unique style. I love his breathtaking landscapes, always perfectly composed and processed. But there’s more: take a look, I’m sure you won’t regret it. Luca
