Who I Am
“Regularity, order, desire for perfection (which is always a false perfection) destroy art. The only possibility of maintaining taste in art is to impress on artists and the public the importance of irregularity. Irregularity is the basis of all art” - Pierre-Auguste Renoir

Inspired by my own irregularities and the irregularities of perfect Nature, it is my goal to capture a portrait of life that is perfectly imperfect.

Above is a still from a 7 minute documentary that I shot about blind photographers, Obscura
It features Kurt Weston, Bruce Hall, and Pete Eckert.
(shot on the Nikon D90)

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Cinema & Television production, my work as a Director of Photography continually informs my work as a still photographer--whether it be photographing people in a cinematic light, or taking macro shots of nature. I currently teach Digital Photography, Rhetoric of Vision & Sound, and Mass Communication at SUNY Jamestown.

After having lived in Southern California for several years, I found myself starved of the irregularities of the East Coast. The seasons, and the people that have learned to become one with the seasons, speak endless volumes of wisdom. So, I moved back to Western New York, and I'm here to stay.

My Motivation
Uploading to flickr is addictive! I highly value constructive criticism.

I upload photos to flickr because I realize that life is subjective, not objective; we all experience life differently and through a "different lens." Therefore, photos serve to identify how we see life--and, the photos of others often reveal facets which I overlook.

    Abigerusan says:

"We do not see everything the same way as everyone else. It takes only an artist to see a photo, a masterpiece, before actually snapping the camera. Though not so often, everytime you upload something I am always excited to see what suprises you have in store for us. You have great talent and a great eye. I absolutely love your portraitures. The only thing "bad" I have to say is that you dont upload enough!"
