When I was 10 years old my father brought home his new camera, a Canonet QL17 G-III. We were told to not touch it if he wasn't around. That, for me, was an invitation to play with it. I figured out fairly quickly when the camera didn't have film in it and so I could shoot pictures all day. I learned how to compose. I learned how to see the stories of my world, of my life. When I was 18 I was able to buy my first "real" camera, a Pentax K1000. A simple tool. A simple camera. I loved that camera. Today I shoot my art with a much more advanced digital camera. Recently, I found a reliable old K1000 in a used camera store and it was like falling in love all over again.
My flickr page is dedicated solely to my new photography on film taken with some old cameras. My other work can be found at www.joecollinsphoto.com. Thanks for looking!
