"When I bought Jeff's "Dirt Cheap Photo Guide to Grand Teton National Park," I was merely intending to use it as a guide. It is so engaging and conversational, however, that by page 5 I was already toying with the idea of taking the tour, and by page ten I gave up and emailed him to sign on. My wife and I just finished the trip, and it was without a doubt the best outing I've ever taken, and that includes the Nepal trek and Grand Canyon river-raft trip of my youth. Jeff is friendly, savvy and professional, and he freely shares his vast knowledge of the Jackson Hole area, both in the book and on his tour. His charisma rubbed off on each member of the group, and the camaraderie that emerged was almost as memorable as the scenery. Now, as an extra bonus, I get to view the excellent shots he took while standing only a few feet from me during the 38 hours of photography that we packed into 3-1/2 days. This trip is something that is going to stay with me for a long time."

"There are photographers out there who produce absolutely fantastic photos but will not give you the time of day; they are so self-absorbed with their own work that they have no time to really look at and offer positive comments on the work of others who may even be considered potential competitors in a very competitive market. And then, there is Jeff Clow, who not only creates stunning imagery in his own right, but who understands the feeling one gets when they put that viewfinder up to their eye. Jeff is a photographer who doesn't hesitate to offer helpful tips, compliments, and encouragement to other photographers so that they may improve upon their own craft. That's because (I believe) Jeff genuinely wants others to learn about and love the medium at which he himself excels. And *that's* the mark of a true photographer.
This is not a very long testimonial - it's rather short, I'm afraid. Others have gone into better detail about Jeff's photographic talents and generosity. You see, I haven't really met Jeff face-to-face, yet. I've talked to him, emailed him, and had circumstances not intervened, would have been a van driver on one of his Dirt Cheap Photo Tours (still wanna do that, sooner rather than later). But after reading yet another positive, encouraging comment left by Jeff about one of my photos, I felt it incumbent upon myself to let other readers know that this guy is not only a class-act photographer, but a really nice person, too :)
Thanks, Jeff. Keep those beautiful photos coming and keep on being a great role model for other photographers."

"As Jeff says, "If you want to take better pictures, stand in front of better things"!! Amen to that---just back from Jeff's Dirt Cheap Photo Tour of the Grand Tetons National Park and what a magnificent sight for the eyes and the camera!!! Talk about the grand tour---Jeff took us to all the most viewed locations as well as some off the beaten path. Up every morning at 3:45 a.m. and on location at 5:30 a.m. to shoot magnificent sunrises at Oxbow Bend, the Moulton Barns and cowgirls rounding up the herd to take back for the trail riders!!! I'm tellling you folks, it doesn't get any better than this!! Tons of shooting for twelve to fourteen hours a day, but the lack of sleep is well worth it! Too many locations to mention, but just head on over to Jeff's tour site, www.dirtcheapphot... for all the information. And, believe you me, you are definitely getting your money's worth!! Jeff and Wil are both true gentlemen and are there to see that you are well taken care of!! Thanks to both for the trip of a lifetime!!"

Howard Brodsky says:
" Testimonials are an interesting part of flickr, as they show an allegiance of sorts, and honors the recipient, and glorifies the moment, or perhaps, more in that, it gives an indication of the integrity behind the person, and behind a philosophy of giving ……of paying back unselfishly.
There are many on flickr that try to be this, but few that give in the way as Jeff Clow does, and it is interesting as for a time we were not contacts.............. as somehow in my re-establishing myself (after deleting myself a year ago) Jeff became a non- contact some how along the way…………and it was an oversight( we are back as friends again )……….however be that as it may my memory is clear to previous dialogues with Jeff and previous encounters and now current encounters …..all positive , fair , and pleasant.
Considering I am a real SOB at times who can be inflexible and a force to be reckoned with .......... says it all because I scrutinize more than most....and I find it a pleasure to deal with him.
Thus it is an understatement for me to say that Jeff is one of those people that gives unconditionally , that he is "'true" and is a man who seems bent on giving 100% for the passion of photography and the passion of making opportunities happen with care for other people on and off flickr…………who is happy to give and embraces opportunities to help those who seek guidance and knowledge.
Jeff aside from this.......... is an administrator with talent …severe talent …….which means his opinion and depth of understanding in playing Solomon sometimes, has to establish merit ,and respect because that is one of the many hats a lead administrator has to be able to establish for him to "run the show".
Jeff is recognized, because of obvious efforts and therefore has earned respect in the photography arena as his pictures are pretty marvelous ……..many of his images are at pro level and beyond, therefore a man of many hats, many responsibilities, who has taken on a job ( his flickr commitments) that is taken seriously by him which allows him to guide and help many on flickr island.
I have been on and off Bravo for the 2 years which is how long I have been on flickr, and I can’t find fault with Jeff as I am a part time art director in my own realm ( 1 of three careers ) and I gauge people in how they operate with others ......and to what degree their decision making, and sacrifice benefits the role they have taken on .
Jeff as lead Administrator for Bravo signifies a incorruptible entity of fairness, logic, and stability, that allows those aligned with Bravo to know that that they are treated fairly and knowingly, that they can understand with comfort.......... that this isn’t the “good –ole-boys club”...................in other words " a fairness for all".
So we have integrity honor , unselfishness, and passion for the enjoyment of others ........and that says a lot for somebody who is in a thankless position........... and yet shows up for work every day and always seems to be there to answer a question in a timely respectful fashion…………On top of this……. a photographer who knows his camera, understands photography at a pro level ………and conducts himself accordingly………..Oh I even forgot and I even get along with him lolololololololololololo..........and that says a lot of Jeff as |I’m the most black and white character on flickr, and I therefore truly realize how lucky I am, as do so many others that we deal with you.
Jeff is a friend of mine who’s opinion, respect, and gauge is beyond reproach and whos level of statis and position has been earned by respect………and not by a decree …………………….Howard"

"Writing a testimonial for Jeff is totally redundant - all you have to do is spend 5 minutes perusing his stream to appreciate his talent and skill. He posts a wide variety of images from every day life to travel to exotic and beautiful places. His images from the Grand Tetons convinced me to visit there for the first time ever last Fall. I only wish I could have attended one of his photo tours and saved a lot of time finding the perfect vantage points in the park. He's also a heck of a nice person, kind and generous with his comments. Jeff is one of the people that keep me coming back to flickr every day."

"Jeff Clow ...
Thank you very much for your comment on my SchwabacherLanding picture...
I was driving to the Snake River overlook to see the Ansel Adams scene, when I saw the name on a turn off. I recognized the name from one of your many beautiful images and immediately headed down the dirt road. Needless to say, I was delighted to find the exact spot you've shot from and to even have adequate lighting. So now I have yet another hint from you to be thankful for; in addition to the many hints that I have previously picked up from following your work.
Many thanks for being such a great inspiration to me and the many others that appreciate your flickr contributions!

"I had the opportunity to meet Jeff and his family by accident or ???? on a previous trip - His family is just as amazing as his photographs.
I also had the chance to here some of his lectures about certain destinations on our cruise to the Caribbean. Very informational and fun with his personallity.
I also had the chance to speak to him one on one about photography and as a newbie to all of this he was very helpful and willing to offer advice and how to tips.
I highly encourage and recommend if you have the opportunity to hear one of his lectures or join him on his photographic tours to take advantage of it"

"Jeff is an excellent photographer and superb friend. I had the great privilege of shooting next to him during the inaugural Dirt Cheap Photo Tour. It was a blast and I would return in a heartbeat!
Jeff always had his trademark smile and was so giving in his photographic knowledge. He's truly a talent, but what sets him apart is his willingness to share. Jeff's obviously made a huge impact on this flickr community of which we are all beneficiaries.
Thank you so much for your boundless creativity. It's always a treat to wake up to a shot of the Tetons (4am wake calls included!). Thank you for your continued support and contribution to this community. I truly value your friendship. Happy clicking!"

"Had the opportunity to show Jeff a few of my favorite places in fall 09 and I found Jeff to be as pleasant and enthusiastic as his smiling profile photo.
Jeff’s photostream if viewed from origination to present is a testament of flicker’s ability to instruct an inspired student of light like Jeff to become a master of color.
Jeff, now you inspire me."

"It doesn't take much effort to look around Flickr and find excellent photographs - they abound. But Jeff's stand out; the well-deserved acclaim the receive gives testament to that. But what intrigues me is “Why?” Is it just composition? Or lighting? Or technique? No, there’s more to it… and I concluded this: I don’t see Jeff’s ego when I view his work; I see “the thing itself” (Those of you who’ve studied photography will recognize those words by Edward Weston). It is almost as though Jeff becomes invisible – transparent - his work gives voice to his subjects – it is as though he channels the subject – allowing it to reveal its own most perfect vision of itself – and it is that to which we respond.
Jeff is also an amazingly supportive person – he seems to take genuine delight in the work of others, and is generous in offering words of encouragement – urging us to see more, feel more, give more…
So thanks Jeff – I’m a better photographer because of you – and perhaps a better person, too."

"Jeff, and for that matter Mrs. Clow, are the sort of folks that you would love to meet when you have an hour or so to spend - you will talk about some of the most amazing and stimulating topics! Jeff's work is amazing! By looking at his images I am learning so much!
I met the Clow's on the MV Sapphire Princess where I was the Naturalist up in Alaska in the fall of 2008. We were just coming out of Glacier Bay National Park when he turned to me and gave me one of those famous "Jeff" grins. I still have the Texas pin that he gave me on that voyage! An absolute scholar and gentleman."

"I have known Jeff Clow for about four years and we have become friends through this wonderful photo sharing web site. Jeff is a very talented photographer and I have mentioned on more than one occasion that a man with this talent should have gone "professional" long ago! I love visiting his photo stream and his forte is without a doubt capturing American nature and landscape. His shots are truly remarkable and the number of comments generated are certainly in keeping with this. His HDR and macro photos are a joy to view.
I value his friendship and invite you to take the time to explore his world. You are bound to find love and inspiration throughout Jeff Clow's photostream."

"Allow me to join the crowd of fans applauding Jeff Clow! I've been inspired by Jeff's talents ever since I first laid eyes on his photostream. Yes, his work will make your jaw drop with its sheer beauty, but it goes beyond that...there is a warmth and humanity that shines through in every single photograph Jeff produces, an essence that pays tribute to the aching beauty of our world. Aside from his wonderful talents as a photographer, there is also his kind and generous nature to which I can personally attest. I feel his gentle encouraging presence throughout the flickr community, and it's obvious that he's had a powerful impact on all of us who have had the pleasure of getting to know him just a little. "I had been following Jeff Clow's photo stream for some time before I got up the courage to ask for him as a contact. I really just wanted to see his photos come into my Contacts Photo Page, because I knew I could learn from them, and I didn't expect him to pay attention to my photos. To my surprise, he took the time to look and make helpful comments, and now, here I am writing yet another testimonial in appreciation of this creative photographer and remarkable man.
I've never seen so many testimonials on any other profile page. They bear witness to the extraordinary talent and generosity of Jeff Clow. Not only does he share his very wonderful images with us, but often he tells us "how to" techniques. When he comments on a photo - or on a set, I just know he understands what I'm trying to portray.
Thanks, Jeff, for sharing your beautiful and intelligent photography and for your generous support."

After knowing him a bit more, It didn't take me long to understand him. Jeff is what I call, a true artist at heart and one who'd appreciate your work, encourage you to death and would show you the way. He is in no competition with any one but rather a friend and a mentor.

"Jeff is the kind of flickr friend everyone needs in their lives, why:
Look at his stream. His portfolio, willingness to pioneer technique and group ideas and shear variety of images are a personal inspiration
Attitude. Some or motivated by the carrot others by the stick. With Jeff the glass is definitely always half full and the positive response I receive from Jeff is always a tonic and massive motivation to venture out for the next shoot (especially in rough weather)
It’s a testament to this site but more importantly people like Jeff that we can consider people we have never me such close friends"

"Jeff is one of the first people to consistantly view and comment on my photos when I first started out on flickr nearly 1 1/2 years ago. I was surprised that someone with his skill would take the time to comment on my photos. I often saw (and continue to see) Jeff's sincere words of praise and encouragement on other members' photos.
Every photo in his stream is captivating for any number of reasons: creativity, color, lighting, moodiness, perspective, DOF, artistry etc.. He is one of the early pioneers of HDR on flickr. A true craftsman and artist!
Most of all, Jeff is a great human being who is well appreciated in the flickr community for his kindness and his leadership in promoting 'COMMUNITY' in flickr.
Thanks, Jeff, for helping to make flickr such an enjoyable experience for everyone!"

"I am delighted to write my first testimonial ever on Flickr for my friend Jeff.
His celebrity and position here on Flickr have not gone to his head. He remains considerate and thoughtful. His comments have inspired me as much as his images.
His images are among the very best of Flickr. Just today, I slipped into his superlative photostream and took a soak in his amazing images. I wound up favoriting another half dozen of the spectacular images and started planning how I could use some of Jeff’s techniques of balance and composition.
Jeff is my friend.
When I turn on my computer, I look forward to seeing his sparkling images, on my screen and read his gracious, forthcoming comments.
Thank you, Jeff for making Flickr such a wonderful experience."

"It is a pleasure to write a testimonial for Jeff. His personality and attitude are both warm and courteous. He is the always-smiling, ever-encouraging voice in your comments.
Tantamount to Jeff's great attributes are his photographs. Numerous Explore page features are evidence to Jeff's great skill and well-deserved popularity. Quality and thoughtful composition fill each frame, leaving the viewer fulfilled and satisfied time and time again. While our HDR philosophies may be exclusive, his interpretations and creations are some of the best in the business.
Thank you for being such a great friend, colleague, and inspiration, Jeff!"

"Sometimes piling on can be bad. Sometimes, as in this case, it's good. As you can see from the long list of testimonials for Jeff, he is a well loved and respected person.
Jeff is one of the first people I came across when I joined Flickr and he has always been quick to praise, easy to communicate with and inspiring as a photographer.
Thanks for all the great photos and all the great comments. You're a truly great guy."

And he likes frogs."

"Wow, the number of testimonials Jeff has received speaks for itself! A very talented and gifted photographer combined with a genuine heart and an encouraging attitude would make me nominate Jeff as Flickrite of the Year if such an award existed! I have a great respect for Jeff in more ways than one. He is truly one of the best photographers on this site."

"The images and quality speak for themselves, but what really can't be seen fully without contact is how this genuine man loves how photography and Flickr have increased his passion for communities. His easy smile and zeal for life are contagious, and he's a big reason I am so active in groups here at Flickr. Keep up the great work, Jeff!"

"Jeff commented on some of my first work, giving praise and suggestion where each was due. Lo and behold I now live in the same area and go shooting in person with him!
A fun, personable guy with a unique view on life, Jeff is an immense asset to my own shooting and to Flickr at large."

"Jeff is simply an amazing artist and a true friend. He is gifted with a natural talent for photography and arts. But what I really like with Jeff is his human interest to help others. Famous as he is right now, he still finds the time to share his knowledge and to give support to his flickr buddies. This testimonial is just too easy to make for a person like Jeff. And I am so proud to be his friend."

"What can you say about Jeff that hasn't already been said? Here is a man with his head securely fastened to the rest of his body. A man that thrives on giving back ten-fold what others give to him. A man who is modest about who he is and who he's touched. A man that many should learn from. And, a man that is a stranger to pride and a friend to all. Flickr is a better place because of members like Jef Clow!"

"Talk about a photographer to admire: Jeff never fails to inspire and challenge me to become better. His photostream is full of faves, bravos and pix that simply leave me in awe. And he is an even kinder, more generous, more encouraging commenter than he is a talented photographer (which is immeasurable). "Flickr is a better place because of people like you, Jeff. Keep up the inspiring work!""

When I was in Texas Instruments, I have no chance to meet Jeff. I met him only on flickr.com.
He is a entrepreneur like myself. He love nature, He love people, he love beautiful things through his window of his soul - his Eyes.
All his master pieces are of quality excellent!! I believe he is not attend a professional photography course. Art is in born in his blood
With digital technology he being able to capture images not for himself. But for all on the Net to share.
Jeff Caring & Sharing attitude are worth commendating as well as the lead by example on flickr.
Congratulation & Thanks....."

"This testimonial is long overdue.
From my first steps in Flickr world, I encounter Jeff everywhere. Not only in my own stream, but literally EVERYWHERE.
His warm and generous character are like a warm shower for us all. It is always a pleasure to encounter his friendly face and his enthousiastic "BRAVO's" in some-ones photostream.
Jeff's whole body of work is an source of inspiration. There's something for everyone whether you're into pure landscapes, stunning vistas or intimate macros, textural pattern, stunning color or soft, ethereal light.... It's ALL there!"
Jeff is immensely creative and productive; his stream a collage of high quality photo's taken from a point of view that surprises by it's angle and insight.
All in all, as some-one I know would say:
"A ROW OF BRAVO's HEADING YOUR WAY!!!"

"Where does one even start when it comes to Jeff? I met Jeff several months ago here on Flickr through his many kind comments on my photos and the invites to groups he sent my way. I love the way Jeff sees life and the way he portrays it in his photos. In my opinion, Jeff has one of the best and most diverse photostreams here on Flickr.
Jeff is so involved on Flickr and has a gift for encouraging that enthusiasm in the rest of us. He is a true gift to us here in more ways than one. An amazing photographer and a wonderful person!"

"I think that Jeff must never stop.
To be able to do all the things he does such as the countless photos he looks at on Flickr and comments on.
Plus keep such a wonderful family looking so beautiful and happy and still have time to take the Inspiring and Wonderful photos he does.
He must be one busy man.
To top it all off everyone he has touched on Flicker I know feels the same as I do, that he is a Wonderful Flickr Friend to have"
25th July, 2005
"I don't believe in Jeff as a person. There must be a team of people to get through that work load. Someone to write all those encouraging comments. Someone else to get involved in all those flickr activities. Then another to keep the family looking so happy and gorgeous. And probably another running that business that keeps them in all of those cameras. And, oh yes, another one who takes all those brilliant photographs.
Team Jeff Clow - I salute all of you."

"Through his wonderful photos, Jeff shares with us his deep love of the outdoors and his family, but just as significantly, he shares his time by encouraging and complimenting countless Flick-ites. His enthusiasm is as boundless as his Texas skies. We welcome him as part of this great Flickr community. Thank you, Jeff, for your fine images and for your kindness."

"Jeff's photo work speaks for itself...thoughtful, caring pictures representing someone who enjoys life and loves this art.
What isn't as evident is Jeff's dedication to recognizing other people's work...contributing kind words and encouragement...helping the rest of us strive for improvement, to submit the next photo for everyone to see.
Thank you Jeff."

"When I was a flickr newbie, Jeff was one of the first people to comment on my photos and give me encouragement. His comments are friendly, full of warmth and always great to read.
Even if his pictures were just average, Jeff would still be a very valuable flickr member since he really adds a sense of community to flickr. However... his pictures are not 'just average'; they are great!! Jeff's photostream just leaps out at you and grabs you!!
Jeff enthusiastically shares his passions for nature, his family, Texas, and the great outdoors through the lense of his camera. Flickr would not be nearly as great without him!! To quote the man in his own words: "Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!""
22nd June, 2005
"Jeff is easily the most welcoming Flicker member I've encountered. He jumps right at you with positive energy and encourages you to contribute to the community. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he makes a mean photo, too. Flickr is absolutely a friendlier place because of him."

"Jeff does great work with the camera, but his work here on flickr is equally impressive. His work with the various groups he's started and admins is outstanding and has helped countless photographers improve their work as well as exposing all of us to additional work we might otherwise not have seen. Thanks Jeff!"

"I stumbled into flickr at a very tenuous time in my life, and discovered this encouraging soul who was proud and happy to share his comments and his life with flickr members via his always optimistic photography. It is through his example, that I learned about the essence of the flickr community. A real gentleman, and those are more rare than even the most precious of pictures. Thank you Jeff for making this a welcoming haven for emerging and seasoned photographers alike. You make this a happy place to visit always!"

There are many splendid family shots that exude and inspire the happiness that we all strive to capture in both our daily lives, as well as, within our photographs.
You definitely are an inspiration...thank you for sharing it with us!"

"jeffclow not only looks through his lens but he sees. Pursuing his love affair with nature, he continually makes us see the details that we may have missed had we been in his shoes, and that can only make us think more, see more and therefore take better pictures.
It is obvious to me that his connection with nature also extends to people. He must be a great guy to be around because do you notice how all the people in his photographs seem to be smiling and having a good time? I find inspiration in your photos, my friend, and I want to thank you for it."
