Night Photo Blog | Facebook | 500px | Google+ | Workshops

Star Shooter: During the past few years, I've been pursuing a style of night photography I call NightScapes. I also write a night photography blog that strives to showcase other night photographers and teach photographers how to improve their nocturnal skills.

I've been a professional illustrative photographer since 1973, and an international lecturer on photography since 1982. My work has appeared in National Geographic, The Smithsonian, Reader's Digest, American Photo, The Ensign, and on the covers of numerous books.

Helping Others Create Their Vision: As a photographer, writer and entrepreneur, I've built and sold five photo-related businesses. I'm now semi-retired, and I'm looking to share my vision and the ideas of others that will improve OUR photography and enjoyment. (Read more from my YourPhotoVision blog statement.)

Although I've taught photography workshops for many years, I'm learning a lot from younger and less experienced photographers here on Flickr who are willing to share and who have so much to give. Thank you!

PRINTS: High quality prints of many of my images are available at my SmugMug website. My most popular galleries are: my NightScapes and my Sacred Grove. If you do not see the image you want there, email me, and I'll place it on SmugMug for you:

stock photography text
Virtually all my photos are available to license as stock photography -- to be used in blogs, newsletters, brochures, prints, and etc. Call me at 1-801-566-8684, or email your request to royce.bair AT (replace the "AT" with with "@"). Prices range from as low as $5.00 for a personal blog use, and up to $200.00 for some commercial print uses. Prints and immediate, online licensing / downloading for many of my images are available at my SmugMug site. If you're a photographer, and would like to learn more about selling your images as stock, read this article I wrote.

microstock text
Microstock is the fastest growing segment of stock photography. If you are a photographer looking to earn extra income from your images, microstock is one of the fastest and easiest ways to do it. Most of the images on my Flickr photostream are earning money through microstock (about one-half of my income comes from stock sales, and has for over 25 years). Read my microstock article for more details. Despite the lure of microstock, there are pitfalls and stumbling blocks. Subscribe to my newsletter for the latest tips and updates.

    Aspenbreeze says:

"There is a lot that can be said about the professional quality of my Friend's photos. He is an photographic artist when it comes to knowing how to take a photo. Not only is that talent displayed but he also is helpful (often writing helpful posts for others to use) courteous and takes the time to really evaluate a photo and give a thoughtful, understanding comment. It is my pleasure to call him a Friend."
