Is it just me, or is there some kind of magic happening right now? You're hearing my story, but I'm not saying a word.
Photographs, words — these things are both static. They don't move or touch or speak, yet they are among the least idle forces on the planet. Like forests, like oceans, they demand that we feel something without telling us what. Contributions from you are required whether you give your consent or not. Being emotional without being revealing, photographs demand that we reach deep into our own chests, sometimes so deep that we cry, or wince, or laugh. Every time we look, however brief or subtle, they require us to breathe our own life into them. They give us as large a say in their stories as their own. Because of this, I don't think any medium is as fitting for sharing stories than words or photographs.
Then again, as a storyteller of words and photographs, I admit I might be a little biased.
