A friend's chance remark recommending Flickr has led to an all out love affair with the camera, a huge hole in my savings account (goodbye p&s; hello dslr and some choice lenses); some wonderful new friends - and more pleasure than any soul has the right to.

And just as unexpectedly, a boating holiday (back when we didn't know one end of a boat from another) convinced us to slip our land-based moorings, become live-aboards on a catamaran, and cruise our way to the more scenic parts of this ol' world. You can follow our adventures here.

Funny (and rather wonderful) how things can turn out ... :0)

(Please accept my apologies if I don't make you a contact ... at the moment with so many recent lifestyle changes, I have very little Flickr time and can barely keep up with the ones I already have.) Thanks for viewing!

"I can’t exactly remember how I first stumbled across Meredith's wonderful sets of photographs, but I’m very glad that I did. What an incredible variety she has, ranging from fairly straightforward landscapes to domestic scenes to well cropped details. Each photograph speaks of care; care with looking and care in execution. I suppose it was the eerie light in “Palma at noonnight” that I enjoyed so much or “Into the pitt” Pitt Rivers here in Oxford that is. All distinct and well chosen subject matter. It is as if she has an empathy with her subject, true all photographer’s and artists have if they are up to the mark, but in Meredith's case it goes well beyond that. As yet her stream of photos is not vast, but it is a lovely folio. I like her titles like - “entrez vous le bois d'or” or maybe a charming antique looking photograph called “Farley's secret.” They sound like the titles to novels; in fact the pictures do tell a story, almost all of them are soaked with an atmosphere. Whether the photo is of ivy on a tree light on the water or chrome or a scuffed pair of old shoes, all are presented in a thoughtful and a powerful aesthetic sensibility. I can’t recommend Meredith’s photos enough, they all deserve to be noticed and absorbed."

"Wow, Honey, not only gorgoeus, an ex ballet dancer pro, an acerbic literary wit and a prodigious reader but a fantastic eye too! I am really impressed by your photos. You manage to make ordinary things like a pomegranate look stunningly beautiful. Well done and keep snapping - we want lots from your long boat trips please."

"Paddle your canoe through Honey’s photostream. She was my first contact, before I even understood what contacts were, on Flickr. I look at what she has uploaded every time I log in. You will find by following this stream that H.P. has a wonderful eye and the definite ability to both capture and create visions. You will find sharp and beautifully composed and lit landscapes, both intimate garden worlds and grand vistas. You will see gorgeous architectural shots, interiors, exteriors and details. You will find lovely crops of an orange striped cat and pictures of book shelves. Here at Honey Pott’s place you will also find a full, rich life with garden, pets and family. It’s all about creativity and stretching yourself. For inspiration, take a look."
