The Clay County Documentary Project is an attempt to create a collection of early Twenty-First Century photographs that will serve as an archive of images featuring the landscape and culture of this small rural Appalachian community in far Western North Carolina. It is my intention that this ever-growing collection serve as a digital archive for use by anyone interested in Clay County. The images are available for editorial, research, and educational use at no charge. This offer does not include commercial use. See the links on individual image pages for more information about image use. The photographs are not model or property released unless otherwise noted on the individual image page.
If you live in or have connections with Clay County and have a suggestion for a location, person or any subject that you think should be included in this project, please contact me at the address
